My classroom is like a pre-Montessori - I am in a Montessori school but I have toddlers 18 months to 3 years old - some of these children are not ready for our regular program - hence my set up!

I just wanted to say thank you for posting this idea. I have been wanting to purchase a board for quite some time now. I created a multiplication bead board for Alyssa soon after viewing this post and visiting Starry Sky Ranch. Ours is made differently. It was fun creating it and using it for the first time. This is such great advise on how to get started. I love your recommendations to read/study a little about the Montessori philosophy to see if it's a good fit. When I was getting started, I drew so much inspiration from other blogs. I would highly recommend that. Montessori can be an easy, natural transition if you simply follow the child. Thank you for your article and all you do to make Montessori easier for all of us.

LOve the geography pin maps and flags. I am doing a passport around the world with my pre schoolers, we already did Antarctica and I used your geography on Antarctica. It was great and the pre schoolers loved it.
